It could be present at birth or appears within the first month or so after birth. It doesn’t cause any harm or discomfort to babies although it could greatly affect their appearance. When the condition is not too serious, infant acne usually goes away very quickly even without acne treatment.

How does acne look like?

It could look like red bumps, rashes or whiteheads. In general cases they appear reddish in color and appear commonly on the face or the forehead but can also appear on the other parts of the body.

What are the various treatments procedures that can be employed for getting rid of acne?

Wash the Baby’s Face

Pediatrician suggests washing the baby’s soft face with the lukewarm water and the mild soap for 2-3 times a day to prevent the happening of the infection on them. Once washed, gently dry the face with the soft cloth.

Use Mild Products

Wash your baby’s skin with mild soap and water. Use soaps which are meant for babies and not the ones adults use. They might irritate your baby’s skin as they contain a large amount of chemicals. Also do not over-wash your baby’s skin. Wash it when a day to keep it clean.

 Use Breast Milk

Breast milk has the excellent anti- bacterial properties which help to get rid of them. For this just rub some breast milk on the affected area for the natural wonder treatment.

Refrain from Squeezing

Squeezing the acne on the baby skin can be quiet painful for them can lead to the secondary bacterial infection which can re3sult in the formation of pus on the skin which can take months to restore the natural appearance of the skin.

Washing the skin of baby with the soap having harsh chemicals or when the baby skin comes in to contact with the saliva  of baby or the milk that he has vomited out then this leads to the development of the secondary infections on the body and hence the acne.

Methi paste

Make a thick paste of methi (fenugreek). Apply it over the infected areas. Let it sit there for 15 to 20 minutes. Rinse off with warm water. Apply a light moisturizer.

Tomato paste

Take a couple of fresh ripe tomatoes. Mash them enough to have a thick pulp of the tomatoes. Apply this paste over the infected area. Wash off with warm water and apply a light moisturizer.

Pomegranate paste

Roast and then powder a pomegranate. Make a paste of it with fresh lime juice. Apply over the affected areas and wash off with warm water.

Turmeric paste

Make a paste of turmeric powder and sandalwood. Apply it on the affected areas. Wash off with warm water.

Ground nut oil

Take some ground nut oil. Mix it with an equal amt of fresh lime juice. Apply it to the affected areas for 10 to 15 minutes. Wash it off with warm water.

Egg paste

Take an egg, break it and separate the egg white from the yolk. Apply the whites to the affected area and leave on for 20 minutes. Wash off with cold water.

Stay Away From Oily Products

Do not moisturize your baby’s skin with oily lotions. This could aggravate the problem and make your baby’s skin worse. Even when your baby’s skin seems dry, moisturize it with a gel based cream or non-oily or non-fragrant moisturizer.

Honey-cinnamon paste

Mix 3 tbsp of honey with 1 tsp of cinnamon and make a paste of it.Apply this paste to the affected area and leave it overnight.Wash it off the next morning.

Neem: One of the most powerful blood purifiers and detoxifiers in Ayurveda, Neem is often used to maintain healthy skin. It therefore helps control acne quite effectively. Grind some neem leaves, and a make a powder of it. Add water to it to make a thick paste. Apply it to the infected areas and wash it off with warm water.
